A friend messaged me one day last week and asked if she could drop by. It was my first week off of work while I wait for this baby to decide she's ready to come, and I was happy for the company.
What a surprise when Kayse--who I've only known for a month--showed up at my door with this:
I was so surprised!
The fact that this sweet girl put together such a thoughtful collection of necessities for a first-time mommy--especially one she had only met a few times!--blew me away.
Kayse is definitely a new blessing in my life. Her husband went to school with me and Jesse (he also played in the orchestra where Jesse and I met), but until they moved a few streets away from our new apartment, we had never met his bride--or their adorable 8 month old munchkin.
Everything Kayse put in the "Survival Kit" is brilliant. From a one-handed water bottle to use while nursing, to flushable wipes, she thought of things that only an experienced mom would, and I so appreciate it!
She even made it cute--isn't it just adorable?!?
I wanted to share this idea with all of you, because I know that once I've got some mommy-experience under my belt, I'll definitely look forward to doing something like this for mother-to-be friends of mine, and thought you might want to, too :-)
That is quite amazing, and yes, everything in that list you will definitely need, haha! What a great idea!
ReplyDeleteWhat a great gift! All of these things are going to be SO helpful! I've wanted to do something like this for friends but have had a hard time coming up with the "necessities". These are definitely them. Thanks for sharing and I hope that your waiting is not burdensome but joyful because of the great love you have for little Kayleigh :)
ReplyDeleteThat is ADORABLE! Totally stealing that for a few years from now when all of our college friends who just got married in the last year start having kids. :)
